Everything I read to do was wrong. It was affecting Firefox as well - problem solved there as well. Peter Doesn't work for me, still no sound. Remove sound drivers.

euro to anyone who reads this: Alex' suggestion worked for me! If you have QuickTime installed, then go to the QuickTime control panel. Im so frustrated, nothing works for me….hope this can give me my sound back. It should be muted, unmute it!
