This product works well with XP in my expierence, but just doesn't have the capabilities to work well with Windows 7. Special Note : I have faced a similar problem & have noticed that USB 3.0 devices are detected as some other devices if and when the proper USB3.0 ( motherboard )

If that doesn't work, connect the external drive to another USB or Firewire port. I have tried switching ports as well and tried to update all of the drivers. A physical (hardware) fault with the hard disc 2. It should be listed under WD Diagnostics. Right-click on the disk listing (Disk 1 in the image below) and choose Convert to MBR DiskThe drive will now have an MBR. I give it a light shake to get the disk to spin.

Immediate failure. This is the thing. If the computer does detect the drive, please test the drive by running First Aid. It won't give me anymore information or allow me to use the device wizard to gather more information.
