Also, it worked fine on my brother's win8 pc yesterday. This product works well with XP in my expierence, but just doesn't have the capabilities to work well with Windows 7. Special Note : I have faced a similar problem & have noticed that USB 3.0 devices are detected as some other devices if and when the proper USB3.0 ( motherboard )

A physical (hardware) fault with the hard disc 2. It should be listed under WD Diagnostics. Right-click on the disk listing (Disk 1 in the image below) and choose Convert to MBR Disk

The drive will now have an MBR. I give it a light shake to get the disk to spin.
