My yellow cymbal did not register any hits, was dead, did not work at all. The other is that if both sets of wires work once everything is re-soldered you'd actually get two signals going to the output. I figured it had to be something rattling and hitting the cymbal surface everytime I struck it, thus causing the extra hit. That gives me 18 inches for each plug if I cut the cable in half.

I'm not sure how the drum kit is designed, but if the plugs are capacitively coupled like most audio equipment, that could boost the signal it "sees" quite a bit.My cymbal I got this problem thingy. When I soldered to the cymbal's 3.5 jack connectors on the circuit board I made sure I melted it real good to get a solid connection to the jack itself.... This has happened with a number of people, including people who have posted on this forum with the same problem, and there's not a whole lot you can do other than The other items you may find handy are a small pair of pliers and some sticky tape for securing the cables inside the drums. maybe works like green...and well..
